Upcoming Mercury Retrograde Effects for Most Zodiac Signs
In evaluating Mercury retrogrades, I use sidereal astrological calculations, as well as Starry Night Pro 6, to determine real-time (current) energies involved. Mercury goes retrograde March 12, 2012, in the constellation of Pisces.
Mercury rules thinking and perception, processing and disseminating information and all means of communication, commerce, education and transportation. By extension, Mercury rules people who work in these areas, especially those who work with their minds or their wits: writers and orators, consultants, commentators and critics, gossips and spin doctors, salespeople, teachers, travelers, tricksters and thieves. Mercury also has an occult side, so healing, astrology and the transmission of spiritual knowledge are also in his area.
Mercury retrograde gives rise to personal misunderstandings; flawed, disrupted, or delayed communications, negotiations and trade; glitches and breakdowns with phones, computers, cars, buses, and trains. And all of these problems usually arise because some crucial piece of information, or component, has gone astray or awry. Public transit, i.e. air, bus, etc., law enforcement activity, and social unrest may be affected and/or increase during a Mercury retrograde.
It is not exactly wise to make important decisions while Mercury is retrograde, since it is likely that such decisions will be clouded by misinformation, poor communication and careless thinking. Mercury is all about mental clarity and the power of the mind, so when Mercury is retrograde these intellectual characteristics tend to be less acute than usual, as the critical faculties are dimmed. Make sure you pay attention to the small print!
During this Mercury Retrograde, we have Mercury conjunct Uranus and the Sun conjunct Uranus. Also, Mercury and Uranus are in the constellation of Pisces, and the Sun is in the constellation of Aquarius.
The energy during this period will be about finding creative and colorful ways of communicating within ourselves and connecting with our higher selves. This energy will also be about connecting with the Spirit world to bring forth universal knowledge to our world that will assist us in bringing about a heart-centered reality where we all contribute to the whole (Mother Earth) for the mutual benefit of evolving and moving forward with our spiritual journey. We can accomplish the task of creating a heart-centered reality by first going within ourselves through meditation, prayer, or whatever method you feel comfortable with to establish an open communication line with your higher-self and with Spirit.
Major Zodiac Signs Affected by the Upcoming Mercury Retrograde
Sun (Leo) in Aquarius
Leo is a highly energetic, masculine fire sign. Leos can be none other than kings, leading all types of enterprises with their strong personalities. They need to be independent in their work, not submissive to others. They have a sense of entitlement and expect to be served. During this retrograde Leo will experience an inner urge to break new ground on ventures he/she has been planning on. Also, careers that feel like “dead end jobs” may disappear for them because their jobs will not be in alignment with their soul intent, which will be to contribute to the needs of the masses. Don’t be impatient, still your fires, and listen to what Spirit has to say. Your ability to create large gatherings can be beneficial to share your knowledge and wisdom to those who can make a difference in the world. Just keep in mind that the need to be acknowledged for your gracious acts does not compare to what you can offer to the world. All your answers, and acknowledgements for your acts, will come within you.
Uranus (Aquarius) in Pisces
The symbol for Aquarius, the waters of knowledge being poured out to the world, indicates Aquarius’ gift to the world and the Universe. Also being an air sign, the knowledge of Spirit can travel vast distances at great speeds. Through technology this knowledge can spread at the speed of light to the far reaches of this world. Once Aquarius receives the waters of knowledge from Spirit it will want to go out to the world in a big way to share what he/she knows so all who have ears to hear can benefit. With the Sun being in Aquarius, this configuration will be supercharged. Aquarius will go out and breakdown old ways of doing business so this new knowledge can be incorporated to start the process of rebuilding this world once again in a way that’s aligned with Spirit. Take your time Aquarius and ground yourself once you receive the knowledge of Spirit. Taking the time to digest the information will be the key on where, how, and who the information should go to. Again, this can be accomplished through meditation, prayer, or whatever method that best suits you.
Mercury (Gemini and Virgo) and Uranus (Aquarius) Conjunct in Pisces and Sun (Leo) in Aquarius Conjunct Uranus (Aquarius)
The waters of knowledge and wisdom will flow freely within us in very creative and unique ways that most people will find unconventional. The lines of communication with Spirit will be clear as long as we take the time to slow down, go within, and listen. Along with this energy, being supercharged by the Sun in Aquarius (the rebel with a cause), we also have the Vernal Equinox on the horizon, which will only increase the ability for us to listen to Spirit in a much clearer manner. Spring brings renewed energy and this is exactly the case during this planetary configuration. So long as we keep to the plan in that we are to co-create a heart-centered reality with Spirit we will evolve and move forward with our spiritual journey along with Mother Earth. One People… One World… One Mind… We Are One!
Addendum
Jupiter, Pluto, Mars in Trine
Aside from the fascinating planetary configurations during this Mercury Retrograde we also have Jupiter, Pluto, and Mars in trine.
A trine is an angle of 120° (1/3 of the 360° ecliptic). The trine indicates harmony, and ease of expression, with the two elements reinforcing each other. The trine has been traditionally assumed to be extremely beneficial, providing ease even if undeserved, but it can be a “line of least resistance” to a person of weak character. But having energy flowing freely may not always be a good thing, especially if the flowing energies have destructive properties.
With Jupiter, Pluto, and Mars in trine we have expansive, destructive, and war-like passionate energy, respectively, being placed on our world. This energy will seek out old paradigms in the most expansive way, break them up, and re-create them with such vigor and certainty that most will not be able to adjust quickly. Add this energy with the energy of Mercury Retrograde and we begin to see drastic global changes occurring to all walks of life while this configuration remains. Governments will begin to experience much tension due to miscommunication events between individuals in high places and with other government entities. Remain aware and present to the energies around you and the effects of this trine and Mercury Retrograde may not be as harsh as can be. In other worlds, it’s better to be facing the wave coming then to have your back to it and get hit unexpectedly.
